Unichip Marine is a sophisticated ECU (Engine Control Unit) that will give your boat better fuel economy, improved safety and better performance. Old technology and the marine environment mean that many boats suffer from engine problems, with some related to fuel flow issues as a result of poor fuel quality – with many owners blissfully unaware.
Unichip Marine is currently plug and play compatible for the Mercruiser D-Tronic engine, and will soon be plug and play compatible for the Kad300 and Volvo Penta range engines. Custom fit installations are possible on all engines, please get in touch with us at Unichip Marine for more details.
Unichip Marine uses engine sensors, not gauge sensors, to provide you with a real understanding of your engine and boat. With precise data displayed on your MFD, you can better control your boat and accurately gauge the health of your engine. Most importantly, the Unichip Marine ECU is plug and play, making installation quick, simple and easy.
Do you know your vessels figures? You may have a chart plotter, but if you have an old engine, they may not be communicating with each other effectively. If you’ve got problems with gauges, sensors and fuel flow, you may not even know it. Unichip Marine will give you all the precise data you need to manage your marine diesel engine efficiently.
Faulty electronics in the gauges and warning systems mean that many operators are completely unaware of how impaired their engine is, and this is what causes engine failure and poor performance. Unichip transmits accurate data through the engine sensors to give you two sets of individual instrumentation so you have a complete understanding of your engine.
The Unichip Marine system utilises a state of the art engine control module to provide your engine with better fuel economy and increased performance.
Improved engine performance means your boat can get on plane quicker, reducing engine strain and making it more efficient – sometimes by as much as 30%.
Up to a 30% improvement in power/torque
Provides you with a level of safety that is not available on any other platform, whilst also delivering noticeable performance and boat economy gains
The Unichip Marine system is a one plug installation. No calibration, no laptop and no wires.
Just plug it in and go. This also makes uninstallation very simple and easy
Unichip Marine is tried and tested in many varying forms of internal combustion engines,
the unit simply sits in between the engine and the engine control module
Tuning can be carried out live on a boat so adjustments can be made on the fly, giving optimum results specific to each setup
Performance tunes carried out and designed for boats and a marine environment. It is not just an automotive product shared across platforms
PLUG AND PLAY.
The Unichip Marine system utilizes a state-of-the-art engine control module to provide your engine with better fuel economy and increased performance. The module also sends information to your compatible multi-function display/chart plotter.
The founder of Unichip Marine is Richard Berg, a renowned race car engine tuner with many years of experience working with the best motorsport teams. His passion is engines, making them safer, more reliable and more powerful. After purchasing a SeaRay 215 with a Mercruiser petrol engine in 2016, Richard quickly realised how archaic, marine engine technology was, especially in engine control and emission requirements – and this was reflected in the poor performance of his boat.
With his background in engines, Richard was quickly able to modify the boat, vastly improving performance and reliability. Speaking with other boat and pleasure craft owners, Richard recognised how common it was for boats to experience engine problems.
These problems, often caused by faulty wiring and gauges, could simply be improved with the technology currently used in the automotive industry. So, the idea for Unichip Marine was born – a simple to install system that would provide boat operators with the precise information they needed to control fuel economy, manage safety and improve performance.
