The Delphi – MEFI range of ECM's (from the 1B to 6B) was a popular and widely used electronic fuel injection system control unit in the marine sector. Despite its popularity and having been installed across a vast range of boats, advances in technology and changes in emission regulations led to the unit ceasing to be produced.

The Delphi MEFI range of ECM's were - due to their age, older technology and harsh working environment known for being unreliable. With production of the Delphi MEFI range of ECM's being halted, it has caused problems for boat owners for many years as failures of these units has increased. A rising demand for replacement units coupled with a declining supply has left boat owners faced with a costly replacement to keep their boats running. In today's market these replacements are only available as expensive reconditioned units which run on the same outdated technology and are just as unreliable. This combined with the limited warranties that are being offered with these units is causing massive headaches with boat owners around the world as there are no alternative solutions….

Unichip Marine has spent the last two years developing a replacement MECU which incorporates all the functionality of the old unit with the reliability that modern technology allows. The Unichip MEFI MECU is designed as a direct replacement making it a straight forward install for any marine technician. The unit can be remotely logged into making remote diagnostics and fault finding an easy task. Being as its a modern standalone MECU system calibrating for performance cam shaft or supercharger is also straight forward.
